Fortune Teller Helps Player Scoop €2.8 Million Irish Lotto Jackpot

Date: 9th March 2010 Time: 15:56:50 GMT + 1
Lady luck struck a County Waterford resident last week as he became one of two lucky punters to net €2.8 Million in Saturday's Irish Lotto - courtesy of some advice from a seaside fortune teller.

31-year-old Mark Furlong, who has said that he plans to split his jackpot with his sister Michelle, revealed the secret of his success at a packed press conference.

The shop owner got his lotto numbers 9 years ago in a 'lucky dip' from a fortune teller on Blackpool beach. Ireland's latest multi-millionaire recalled how the fortune teller had a bag of numbers with her and how he had, jokingly, asked if she could make lottery predictions.

The fortune teller then selected 6 numbers from the bag and Mark has been playing the mystic numbers ever since - steadfastly refusing to change his 'winning' numbers and buying the same ticket every week.

His patience and belief paid off last Saturday - a million times over!
