Future is bright for jackpot winner

Date: 19th August 2010 Time: 18:49:06 GMT + 1
Wayne Hughes, 34, has no doubts about his future. After winning £1,117,779 on the British Lotto on 7th August, the resident of Holyhead, Wales, is set to go back to school to study for a career in IT.

And to ensure that he never forgets his life-changing moment of luck, he's had not only the date but also his winning number combination tattooed on his arm.

Says Hughes, "Having this money means I can go and study without any worries about where the cash will come from." Mr. Hughes also plans to keep working his retail job, though perhaps with reduced hours while he studies.

Other plans for his win include buying a new home and car, taking care of family and friends -- and possibly a holiday outside the UK.

Mr. Hughes ticket was 1 of 4 jackpot winners for 7th August. The lucky number combination was 13, 16, 22, 25, 31 and 39. Mr. Hughes choose the numbers by using family birthdays.
