Lotto players win £7.7 million, say "This money is for sharing"

Winning £7,706,631 came as a huge shock to Susan and Ivan Westbury of Nottingham. However, when it comes to planning how to handle all that cash, the couple's intentions are remarkably clear. "This money is for sharing," said Mrs. Westbury, "and will make all the difference to our family." The Westburys have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
The Westburys were fortunate enough to pocket the jackpot from the British Lotto's draw on Saturday 17th July, but had no idea that they were multi-millionaires until the next day, when Mrs. Westbury checked her ticket at a Tesco store while buying groceries. She was so surprised when the clerk told her she'd won a substantial prize that at first she couldn't react. She said, " . . . there was a queue forming behind me but I just couldn't move -- I was in complete shock and couldn't make myself function properly! The man behind me said 'congratulations' but I still had no idea how much I had won!"
So flabbergasted was she that she needed the assistance of the Tesco clerk to call her husband to share the good news. Ironically, later that day, the Westburys wanted to celebrate their windfall at a local pub, but found themselves without enough cash to buy drinks.
Even though they are now wealthy, the Westburys have no intention of quitting work. Ivan Westbury is the owner of a specialist lightning protection business and is dedicated to his company. He says, "I wouldn't dream of giving up work. We employ 30 people who rely on us and us on them -- we are not about to walk away from that." Mrs. Westbury, however, hopes to be able to persuade her husband to take a holiday -- his first in 4 years.
