They're calling their syndicate The Winners' Club. And after scooping a share of a British Lotto jackpot for 26th June, who can disagree with them? The crew of 11 drainage workers from BSS Drainage in Eastleigh won £954,934 on the game, resulting in a payout of £86,812 each.
Their story illustrates how patience and persistence can sometimes bring great returns. The syndicate has been remarkably loyal to the number combination that finally netted them their jackpot share. Said one member, "We've been a syndicate for 16 years and use the same numbers every week without fail. We were only joking on Friday afternoon about how we never win more than a tenner. It's unbelievable to win this amount of money." Their lucky number set is 18, 26, 33, 35, 37 and 47.
Plans for spending their windfall include paying off mortgages and helping family, plus travel and a few new toys.
