In a nation of passionate people, only bullfighting can get the pulse racing faster than the hugely popular national lottery, or ‘La Primitiva’ as the Spaniards call it. Whether you feel more at home strolling down Las Ramblas, improving your handicap on the greens at La Manga or sipping Sangria on the beach in San Sebastian, the Spanish Lotto could be your ticket to the big time.
This twice-weekly lottery is a big event for the Spanish, and now you too can get in on the action. When you play La Primitiva, you must choose six numbers from 1 to 49. There is also a seventh number called “Reintegro”, which is randomly selected when a ticket is purchased. Seven winning numbers are needed to secure the big prize that could see you retiring to the Costa del Sol.
