Spanish Summer Gordo
It’s early July in Spain and things are really heating up, this is partly down to the temperature, but it owes even more to the rising sense of anticipation that accompanies the Summer Gordo draw. As you walk through the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, people hoot their horns and wave their tickets out of their car windows, while a minor scuffle breaks out as people clamour for tickets from a nearby newspaper kiosk.
The Summer Gordo lottery is structured differently to its more famous big brother, but with a total prize pool of €140 Million and ten jackpot payouts of
€2 Million each, you can see why the queue for tickets can resemble that of a prize bull fight. You need have none of those problems though, as your tickets can be bought through European Lottery Guild.
